Recording & Performance

As much of our experience comes from the music production sector, we understand how to draw out the magic from a performer during the recording of raw material for a product that is effectively a ‘sonic mosaic’, made up of many discrete phrases and words.

Audio Engineering & Production

Many of the devices we produce voices for have small speaker chip sets, reduced memory capacity and limited frequency response. A high degree of expertise is required if the GPS voice is to retain the original life and character of the performance, as well as sound consistent to the driver under a variety of driving conditions.

Scripting

Our scriptwriters fully understand the peculiarities and constraints associated with the scripting of GPS voice content. We begin with the brand and the desired tone / mood, weaving in delightful in-character jokes and asides into the core script, taking care to ensure these reflect the talent’s style of speech and delivery, whilst ensuring an appropriate balance and trade off between usability and fun.

Testing

Aside from the many post-production / audio processing techniques we acquired during our years spent in the music industry, we have developed our own specific processes and voice testing software to ensure that the aural output of our products is of the very highest quality.
